Tourism Australia in partnership with leading Hong Kong property group SINO is launching the ‘Restaurant Australia‘campaign in Hong Kong on 3 September at a long table lunch at popular harbour-front restaurant, Alfresco Lane.
Renowned Australian chefs Ben O’Donoghue and Eddie Cofie will serve up a tailor-made menu of fresh Australian produce to more than 100 guests including travel trade executives, Sino Group VIPs, and international media.
Following the long table lunch, a press conference will be held on Thursday 4 September to launch ‘Restaurant Australia’ marketing activity with OpenRice, Hong Kong’s leading food and wine digital platform.
Marketing activity on OpenRice between mid-September and mid-October will include: featured food and wine journeys of seven Hong-Kong based gourmands who will each visit an Australian state during September and October; as well as the airing of a six-part mini travelogue filmed in South Australia and Victoria featuring two Hong-Kong based celebrities.
On Friday 5 September Tasmania Eco-tourism pioneer Robert Pennicott will visit the spectacular old fishing village of Tai O to share information about Australian sustainable tourism with Hong Kong media. Ben O’Donoghue will create a special dish of Australian abalone served with Tai O’s famous shrimp paste.
