Australia needs to be proactive in obtaining and maximising Chinese investment, Australia’s Ambassador to China, Frances Adamson, told business lunches in Sydney and Melbourne.
Australia’s Ambassador to China, HE Frances Adamson, addressed Asialink Business lunches in Sydney and Melbourne to give her insights on the China-Australia relationship.
Ambassador Adamson offered a positive outlook on Chinese investors looking to engage with Australia. She said Australia’s stable and transparent business and investment environment made it a favourable destination for Chinese investors, especially in the sectors of agricultural and services.
However, Australia has to compete with other countries to attract this investment.
Ambassador Adamson stressed the importance of not taking the relationship with China for granted. She said the benefits and opportunities presented by Chinese investment had the potential to “deliver real prosperity in Australian’s households”, but Australia needed to be proactive to obtain and maximise this investment.
