The shortlist of this year’s finalists reflects the diversity of Australian business operating in Greater China, with architectural, design, construction, education and training, logistics, tourism, social media, manufacturing and primary industry businesses making up the group.

Westpac’s Head of Greater China, Mr. Andrew Whitford, announced the 27 finalists, across seven categories, at a breakfast this morning in Beijing, attended by the Australian Minister for Trade and Investment, Mr Andrew Robb (pictured top left) who is in China leading more than 700 business delegates from Australia – Australia’s largest ever trade delegation – as part of Australia Week in China.

Westpac has been supporting its customers in China for over 40 years and in that time, Mr Whitford said the bank had witnessed some great success stories of Australian companies thriving in China. Westpac has been the title sponsor of the Awards since 2010.

“As a leading Australian bank we understand the importance of celebrating these success stories and this is one way we can recognise the companies that are leading the way in China through their innovations,” Mr Whitford said.

Craig Aldous, Elders’ General Manager for China, and a judge on this year’s AustCham Westpac Australia China Business Awards judging panel, praised the finalists for their innovative approaches to business.
