AustCham Beijing will host two significant events during September – an Australia’s First Families of Wine Dinner on September 7 and its annual Barbeque on September 15, 2013.
Hosted by the Families & AustCham Beijing, the ‘Unlocking the cellars of Australia’s 12 leading family owned wineries and sharing their family jewels, old and new’ wine dinner to be held at Capital M on September 7 is a not to be missed event.
Formed in Australia in 2009, Australia’s First Families of Wine is a club of 12 of Australia’s leading multi- generational wine makers who came together to tell the world about the heritage of Australia’s premium wines and to share the stories behind them.
Together, the 12 families represent 16 Australian regions across four states and more than 1200 years of winemaking experience between the families. They are the heart and soul of Australian wine.
The Families have travelled together to the UK and Canada, sharing their histories and spruiking their wares at combined cellar door-style roadshows. This year, the Families have set their collective sights on China.
As part of their three-city (Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong) tour in China, the Families, together with AustCham Beijing, will be hosting a premium wine dinner on September 7, 2013, at Capital M Beijing. The dinner will showcase Australian premium wines, with a selection of simply good and classic food, and an iconic view that unfolds from the Forbidden City to Qianmen Gate, including Tian’anmen Square.
The Australian Ambassador to China, Her Excellency Frances Adamson, and leaders of Chinese and Australian businesses will join the dinner and celebrate the launch of ‘Unlocking’ Australia’s
First Families of Wine in Beijing.
