Membership Coordinator
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of Chamber operations directly impacting the membership base.
Key Responsibilities
o Member relationship management – frequent verbal, email and in person contact
o Maintaining contact history diary
o Promotional activities to increase the membership base
o Clear communication of Chamber membership value and benefits
o Analysis & Reporting – prepare monthly board reports; maintain knowledge of current and emerging industries in Northern China, particularly those relevant for Australian firms
o Management of and Administrative support for working groups
o Work with Events Manager to design an event program of relevance to membership base
o Website Management of Membership Area
o Promote members through digital delivery to online subscribers and website
o Monitor membership participation and interaction and identify areas of improvement
o Have a holistic understanding of the international Chamber community in the Beijing market and ensure that the Australian Chamber is a leader in terms of activity, operation and benefits to member individuals and institutions
o Maintain a membership structure that is relevant to the Australia-China community
o Provide feedback to board and secretariat on member activity and perceptions
o CSR distribution of philanthropic funds on behalf of AustCham Beijing
o CSR researching and working with community partners
o CSR Member Education through roundtables and conferences
o Other duties as assigned
Key Performance Indicators
o Low member attrition
o Increase in membership base
o High level of membership interaction and activity
o Maintain “contact diary” which provides information on member activity and perceptions and summarises member satisfaction with the Chamber
o Afore mentioned Responsibilities are completed in a timely and efficient manner
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant industry (required for expatriate candidates)
o Previous experience in marketing, PR or CRM role
o Computer literacy
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Chinese literacy a bonus)
o Strong and flexible work ethic
Reporting Hierarchy
The Membership Coordinator reports to the General Manager and General Operations Manager (in their absence the Membership Coordinator will report to AustCham Board’s Executive Committee). The Membership Coordinator will often liaise with Event and Finance teams.

Understands the considerations and values of a non-profit, membership based organization. Ability to work in a small team environment, contribute positively to local atmosphere and deliver on job responsibilities.
